Roadside rest stop scarcity
I was pleasantly surprised. The bus interior was clean and well organised (two seats to the left and tree seats to the right) – similar to the arrangement of seats on air planes. There was none of that rusted metal that you fear will give you tetanus.

Domestic trade practices
When on a flight from Entebbe to Dar es Salaam, aboard Air Uganda, we were served: Yogurt from Jesa Farm, Wavah bottled water, pastries, tea, coffee, fruit juices and fresh fruits, all products made, grown and supplied by Ugandan owned companies. It was a proud Ugandan moment for me.

Bank of Uganda weak control of lending rates
While, in 2013, commercial banks reduced their lending rates, it seems that none have reduced them back to the original rates pre-2011. This status quo does not facilitate improvement in the food security situation of Ugandans.

Ugandans net buyers of food so control prices
The most appropriate policies for Uganda, it would follow, would be those that ensure that food prices in Uganda are controlled so that Ugandans are able to buy food at any given time.
