Case file proceeds to trial
At Mbale Hight Court this morning, 31st March 2026, the Court Registrar proceeded my case file, Civil Suit 18, to a Judge for trial.
Legal counsel for the criminal and the criminal were a no show at Court. I wonder why? Likely, it is because since November 2025 to date, the criminal has not filed a defense in response to my witness statements and trial bundle.
Effectively, in legal terms, as of today, the defendant, who masquerades as an advocate, when he is not, has no defense. As in, there is no record in Court of the defendant’s defense for the malicious damage of my orchard.
MY PRAYER TO COURT: Find the criminal maliciously damaged my orchard; and award me two hundred twenty five million, one hundred thirty eight thousand, five hundred and four shillings (225,138,504) in damages . For destroyed orange and mango tress – Shs. 32,700,000; costs of reinstating the orchard – Shs. 20,968,880; and net income lost from the orchard – Shs. 171,469,624). In addition, I pray for a Court award of general and punitive damages for all the inconveniences, psychological torture and embarrassments as a result of the criminal’s actions.
Well, the Registrar agreed with my legal team, Okalang Law Chambers, no more delay. On my behalf, the First Chair, the most perpendicular Advocate Allan Ogoi, was in Court in person and did the deed of effective lawyering.
Oh yes, my ace legal team also got the criminal’s other attempt to delay the trial dismissed. The criminal’s application to Court to compel me to pre-pay (deposit) with Court costs for the suit, ebe in anticipation of Court ruling against me.
Court saw through that ridiculous application, considering in the bigger picture I am currently the one awarded a protective Court Order – a temporary injunction against the criminal until determination of Civil Suit 18.
The criminal continues to be in contempt of court; a story for another day.
For now, what a fabulous way to end women’s month, indeed. It is celebration time, my case file is proceeded for trial!
