“Sound of Music” is my absolute number one favorite movie. Loved it as a child and now as a grown up, love it even more. “Sense and Sensibility” has to be my number two favorite. “The Shawshank Redemption” comes in third for me.
All of the three are in the drama genre and are highly acclaimed films, which tell great stories. Two of them are multi-award winners.
But for me, I think they are my top three not necessarily because of their acclaim, but because I love great stories on day-to-day living in which the underdog, so to speak, triumphs.
And all three have a great ending of hope, that my favorite characters went on to lead good lives, my imagination has it.
Honestly, I really cannot think of any other movies to add on to my top ten list. Maybe later, if I can remember any.
But today’s daily prompt also has me wondering about how come I don’t have an African movie among my top ten. I wonder why? Food for thought indeed!
