I have never owned my own pet, but my late dad had a dog. After papa died, Max would become clingy when he saw me after he had not seen me in a while. And every time I saw him it reminded me papa is no longer with us on earth. I sensed, like me, Max missed papa too. And so I did my best to spend more time with him, comforted papa’s spirit watched over us.

On 30th December 2023, three years and one month since papa rested, his best friend, Max, his dog, rested. I miss them both dearly. I hope Max’s spirit has found of papa and together they continue to watch over me, until we meet again.

I am triggered, but doing my best to hold it together. When the time is right and I am in the right state of mind, I too will get a pet, most likely a 🐕
