The top three countries from which The Humanist View receives views and visitors remained Uganda, United States, and United Kingdom, in that order.

Of note is the entry of India as fourth top country from which The Humanist View receives views and visitors.

Three countries – France, Germany and Netherlands – that in the past five years featured in the top five countries from which The Humanist View received views and visitors, did not make it to the 2024 top five countries. Food for thought, going forward.

Top Referrers

Over the last five years, two referrers have consistently made it among the annual top five referrers of The Humanist View; and they are: Google.com search engine and X (formerly Twitter). This was the case also in 2024.

Of note and concern is how Facebook dropped from being the top most, 80 percent referrer, in 2020 to number four referrer in 2024, contributing only six percent of the referrals.

A valid explanation of the huge reduction in referrals to The Humanist View from Facebook is the continuing ban of Facebook by President Museveni’s National Resistance Movement administration. Learn more in “Uganda’s president bans Facebook for being ‘arrogant’.”

The Humanist View indeed identifies with small businesses in Uganda that are experiencing the crippling effects of the Facebook ban in Uganda. We add our voice to the plea that the ban is lifted. Learn more in “Lift Facebook ban – Uganda entrepreneurs ask government.”

Ending on a positive note, we celebrate the marked increase of referrals from the WordPress.com Reader, from less than two hundred in 2020 to over a thousand in 2024. Explanation likely being The Humanist View now more frequently writes blogs in response to the WordPress daily writing prompt.
