How would you describe yourself to someone who can’t see you?

A dreadlocked woman of color. My skin complexion is a natural chocolate brown. I have brown eyes and off black hair and is greying, denoting one with years of experience and accumulated wisdom.

By height and age,  I am way taller and older than USA gymnast Simone Biles; but although older than her, I am way shorter than USA basketball player Brittney Griner.

Be that as it may, both women, Olympians, greatly inspire me with their perseverance, grit, strength, and excellence in their sporting careers, against all odds.

As the Scottish once described me in the late 1980s early 1990s when I was student in Edinburg, I think of myself as a “bonnie lass” who is mastering keeping my innocence of childhood as I age – in physical appearance and in thought.

Yes, my confidence does get knocked sometimes, but overall I consider myself with proverbial thick skin. I eventually always stand tall and I rise.

A blessed day to you all 🌹
