That which is encapsulated in the adage “the truth will set you free” inspires me. When I believe it to be true or when I know it to be true I am inspired by it.
When along the way I learn it not to be true, I adjust and I embrace the truth and pro-actively speak out the loudest against that which I did when I believed it to be true and have since discovered it not to be.
I aspire to embrace truth in all spheres of my life for I do not want to be in bondage of deception. In embracing truth I liberate self. I know it is so difficult to live by, especially in this era of ‘political deception’ glorified, but I do my best.
It baffles me how so far away from living by the truth that we have deviated.
“Sadly, many in Uganda have internalized and accepted the normalization of political deceit within the political arena. Seemingly, in fact, it appears as though in Uganda it is the lies of politicians that are the more exalted than the truth.” Read full post, Reflecting on our Children’s Future, published in The Observer.
But then I again, I am most inspired to fight for the truth, using that which is within my means. Indeed, the focus of some of my posts published here on my blog was purely to fact-check and counter untruths.
