Of course, if you can afford it, it makes economic sense to buy bulk. However, I also figured that if I buy everything that I need at a go, I will not have much incentive to step out again.
I have worked out a system in which certain things I like to eat, for example sweet bananas, I buy enough to last me at the most three days. This is so that I will need to go back to the market to buy more.
And so, about twice a week, there will be a reason to motivate me to step out. I love my walks in the city taking different routes. Chatting with vendors and shop keepers as I do so. It is particularly fun in a new city, because that is how I establish connections with my favorite vendors and ‘suppliers’.
Most importantly, there is a visible difference in my fitness and health. I see it in terms of weight loss. I feel it – I am relaxed and healthy. I am at peace and my creative juices are rearing to go.
As I walk, in some of the routes I take, I am able to allow my thoughts to wonder off. I wonder, about how the future shall be. For example, how shall Uganda be in 2060, I wonder, lost in thought.
Will the Radical New Bar (RNB) succeed in its quest to decolonize, democratize, digitalize and demilitarize the justice, law and order sector; and set the foundation for one that truly works for the people of Uganda?
What shall the Uganda Law Society (ULS) be like in 2060?
Will those still alive be able to deduce that which the RNB set in motion in the ULS as the contributory factor?
What a great achievement that shall be!
In the meantime, I pray the RNB keep walking against all odds. We are at a crossroads on our country, and we desperately need them to succeed!
