“Look at her. She is beautiful, moreover, but is bad mannered. I pity your husband,” the miserable neighbor gleefully exposes her gender inferiority complex, likely resulting from being in an unhappy marriage. As she screams at me over the fence.
This woman does not know me. Nor do I know her.
Anyway, you see, neighbor was upset because I was concerned that in their alleged search for their alleged lost ball they were damaging the natural perimeter fence of our property, and I told them so. As in asked them to stop damaging our natural fence. Understandably, all things considered, they did not stop.
“Add paraffin into that fire,” my naughty prompter urges me. My heart pumping fast from unleashed adrenaline, I decide it is a good idea. I take the bait and shout back at she neighbor over the fence:
“I am not married and one doesn’t have to be married to be ‘good mannered’.”
She is ticked off. Her uncouth tongue goes into overdrive. Words uncouth flood out of her mouth. Others in her gang join in. And I am pleased because they cannot steal my joy. But apparently they mistakenly think they can.
Seriously, back to the point, what will it take to convince women of my motherland to decolonize our minds and save ourselves out of relationships, marriages, that are held together by a type of ‘gender Stockholm syndrome’?
The answer seems to elude us here on earth. If the answer is located in the moon, I am willing to pay a price to go to the moon and bring it back with me to earth.
“A number of studies report that single women tend to be healthier and less depressed, living longer than married women. Single women generally experience fewer stresses and compromises than married women. Furthermore, single women feel more empowered, enjoying greater personal autonomy and freedoms than married women … Wives are generally less happy than single women, with many resentful of being married to the wrong man (source @ Yale University).
If I am able to find the answer here, I am quite happy staying here on earth contributing to the greater good of saving womankind from her low self-esteem. In which case, I am not willing to pay anything to go to the moon.
