For a cause that I believe in, I do believe I would work without pay, as a social media influencer. Do the job for free, I am certain of it.

Even put in the extra hours to learn how to use different social media platforms just so that I am the more effective in furtherance of the cause’s objectives.

Essentially, to a great degree, that is exactly what I am doing for our nonprofit, CPAR Uganda Ltd. Doing the job of social media influencer without pay.

With all honesty, however, I must clarify that I have full support for the infrastructure that is needed for the job to be done. I am only lending my expertise and extra time.

As I do, I am at the same time learning a lot. In order to be effective, I must learn new skills of how to communicate on the different social media platforms.

I must nurture and grow comfort in using platforms that prioritize still and motion picture communication. This is as opposed to those which favor lengthy written prose, as I am the more comfortable with.

For example, on this day, Easter Sunday 2026, I have spent the whole morning learning how to navigate TikTok.

Civic activism rooted in humanism is the mission of blogger Norah Owaraga.

By the way, I write this post, I have ZERO followers on TikTok.

And so, I ask you please to be my support base for this journey. If you are on TikTok, please give me a follow and so I know to follow you back on TikTok.

I digress, back to the job I am willing to do for free.

I feel ready to deploy my TikTok learning for the benefit of CPAR Uganda and its direct beneficiaries. Guess what? I can do so right away!

Tomorrow, we, CPAR Uganda, receive 30 youth selected to benefit from attending a photography masterclass, under our training of media change agents component.

Training of media change agents is part of our Dr. Paul Hargrave Memorial Centre Human Development project that we are jointly implementing with Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief.

Alongside equipping youth with technical income generation life skills in photography, it is our intention to familiarize them with other life skills such:

  • Cash management
  • Culture of saving for capital for investment

Yes, as I scrolled TikTok this morning, I as pleasantly surprised to find ‘TikTokers’ posting great advice on cash management and the importance of saving to generate capital. It is my intention to join them!
