What would you change about modern society?

I think for me, the ‘modern food’ is top of my list for that I would change about modern society. And in every way from seed to plate.

The way that it is produced, who produces it and how they produce it needs changing to more environmentally friendly ways of doing so, among others.

Then there is the ‘fast food tragedy’ that I would love to change.

I would love to change back to the times when there were many varieties of the same fruits and vegetables. When food was not judged by its perfect shape and color.

I would like there to be more of organic food available and accessible to all and less of the food ground using harmful chemicals to humans and the environment.

Foods such as leafy vegetables of old that were plenty in the past but are rare and GenZ had no clue how to prepare them.

For example, Emalakany is a versatile sauce of the Nilotic people of Uganda – the Luo and Ateker peoples.

It can be prepared in a variety of ways the most common being in a thick groundnuts sauce.

Emalakany in groundnuts sauce served with sweet potatoes.

It is delicious with sweet potatoes, as l had for Sunday lunch, and also with atap – sorghum and cassava ugali accompanied with chicken, as per the profiled photo.

Importantly, changing ‘modern food’ is priority for it has direct positive consequence to human health.
