My favorite places that I have visited and would love to revisit frequently are forest bathing spots and waterfronts; if the latter are forested too even the better.

I must admit that I used to love visiting and staying within nature, as in forested spaces, even before I knew it as forest bathing.

In retrospect, I now know that I love the “Japanese practice of spending time in nature and immersing oneself in the forest atmosphere using all senses to promote physical and mental well-being.”

Mark you, some feel sorry for me, for my love of spending time alone in nature, for they do not fully understand it.

They are not empowered enough to live out of the box that our society has condition us, to believe spending time with people should be the ultimate.

Yes, if I spend time with another or others while communing with nature, I would love for there to be minimum human noises so that I may enjoy the ambiance and sounds of nature.

I love, love, love, the sound of chirping birds, the most. Early in the morning as I wake, during the day as they rest in the tree top and in the evening as they sing me to sleep.

When it so happens that I am in a forested location, in a tinned roofed house, and it rains, I am in heaven. I love the sound of rain hitting the roof.

I love the wind accompanying the rain and the sound of runoff water, making its way into a reservoir tank or other wise.

I love the sound of water, and that is why I do love visiting waterfronts. But if there be flowing water within the forested spot I am visiting, that is what I would love the most.

And when rain water hits the earth, I love the smell from the earth to the air. And that is why, I love it that the forested spot is organically so and is devoid of harmful chemicals that destroy nature.

I love the green color of tree leaves, for that is what we mostly get in my homeland, nearly whole year round. But when I was in Scotland and in Canada, I loved also the different colors of leaves that their trees have.

So, I do not have one favorite spot, as long as it is forested and with sounds of water that will be it for me!
