Ms. Namyalo Mariam, NRM Chairperson, Entebbe Division B, said this in 2023 regarding road works in Entebbe Municipality:
“I tell you this. Rain or shine the contractor who is doing these roads needs to be jailed. We are tired of being disrespected.
If the press was here, I would have knelt down, and asked them to convey a message to our government to come and arrest the engineer and the contractors.
This is too much. Government should jail them. We are tired.”
She was speaking at a meeting called to inform landlords and business owners how the government was going to dispossess us of land without compensation. And other such things.
People are not certain, whether it is really true that no provisions were made to compensate land owners?
What is the real truth?
